Fr Stanley Antoni ordained at Chapel of St Joseph, Bidor
28 October 20007

BIDOR, Perak: Deacon Stanley Antoni was ordained to the priesthood in the Chapel of St Joseph, in his hometown on Thursday Oct 4 on the feast of St Francis of Assisi by Antony Selvanayagam, the Bishop of Penang Diocese.

The BECs and Tapah parishioners fully supported the sacerdotal ordination of one of their own parishioners with a full turnout of about 1,200 people comprising about 40 priests, three religious sisters, nine seminarians, parishioners of St Mary’s parish, with three busloads of Orang Asli parishioners. A bus load of Indonesian and Timor Leste Catholics who worked in the nearby estates also attended. About 100 parishioners from the Taiping Catholic Church, where Deacon Stanley did his pastoral training came in a bus and many vans and private cars.
The week had been particularly taxing for Deacon Stanley, whose father S. Antonisamy had passed away just a week earlier at age 61 years, leaving his beloved mother Mdm. Chandrammal to witness their son’s ordination without the physical presence of his father in the chapel. Read More
