Feastday celebration at St Anthony

NIBONG TEBAL: The Church of St Anthony celebrated their 116th feast of St Anthony from June 7 to 19. The core theme for the celebration was St Anthony, Model of Deepening Discipleship.

The feastday celebrations began with the Feast of Corpus Christi themed St Anthony, Bearer of the Body and Blood of Christ. After the Mass, there was a procession around the church compound followed by benediction at the newly built grotto. Read More

NIBONG TEBAL: In the 116-year history of the Church of St Anthony, this is the first time that the Chrism Mass in the Diocese of Penang was held in the parish.

One thousand five hundred parishioners and Catholics from the Diocese filled the church to participate in this historic event. The four-language Eucharistic Celebration began with the entrance procession from the parochial house to the church led by two nadeswaram musicians. Read More

Grotto in honour of Our Lady

NIBONG TEBAL: On Dec 7, parishioners of the Church of St Anthony gathered for the blessing of the newly constructed grotto in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes.

It is indeed another welcome place of prayer both for the parishioners and the people around — a sacred ground to meet God and one another! It took a record time of one month to build the fairly large grotto under the experienced liturgical supervision of Fr Francis Xavier Selvarajoo who is the current parish priest of the trio of parishes since June 2006.
