PENANG: One of the most active and enduring BECs in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Pulau Tikus is Area Group 4 of Tanjung Bunga which celebrated its 24th year with a rousing Christmas Party 2008 at the local community hall.
Headed by leader Philip Chye and his group of hardworking core members the area group formed in 1984 has grown in stature.
“The family-like atmosphere and the close rapport between members in this area group has been the source of inspiration which has made it very popular even among members of other area groups as members come together in harmony and the love of their Christian faith,” shared Chye.
The celebration to honour the birth of Jesus attracted more than a 100 partygoers including guests of all ages who sportingly participated in games, lucky draws, quizzes and a sumptuous dinner spread prepared by the members.
The night’s festivities was full of fun and gaiety and there was never a dull moment.
Several members walked away with valuable prizes and almost everyone had a present to take home.
The night’s programme was planned with the assistance of the team members particularly James, Simon, Sam, Francis, Stephen, Anthony and all those who have contributed in no small way to the success of this memorable event.
