IPOH: The Penang Diocesan Lenten Campaign at St Michael’s Church (SMC) was made extra meaningful this year with the active participation of the teachers and children from the Chinese and English Sunday Schools.
Since the second week of Lent, the children had been saving earnestly to fill up their Love Offering money boxes.
The Love Offering money boxes were made by the PHDC Love Squad before the start of the season. A total of 140 boxes was distributed to the children. This was to actively involve them in the spirit of Lent through the practice of self-sacrifice and helping those in need.
During the Palm Sunday morning Masses, representatives from both schools presented baskets containing the Love Offerings to SMC’s Parish Priest Fr Michael Cheah, to be offered up to God.
