IPOH: On October 14, The Church of Our Mother of Perpetual Help celebrated a Children's Day Mass. Children sat at the pews reserved for them.
Celebrants for the night were Fr Patrick Massang and Fr Joseph Stephen. After the gospel, there was a shadow play. This was then followed by a dialogue between Fr Joseph Stephen and the children, and it began like this, "Who wants to be rich?" and of course all the children’s hand, went up with the sounds of "E, ME" being heard.
The dialogue was meant to make children realise that they are really lucky to have parents who love them so much and that they could pray for those who are not as fortunate.
Fr Patrick Massang then took over to add in a few words of wisdom. Addressing the congregation he asked, "What have we held back from our children and what have we failed to share?" He reminded everyone that though we are so busy and lack much, we must never separate ourselves from our loving children.
The Mass continued with songs sung by the Young People's Choir and ended with the blessing of all children.
