Jesus Is Our Lord And Healer.

PENANG: "Jesus is the one who heals. Jesus must be the Lord of your life to be saved. To be healed, two things are required: repentance and forgiveness. Don\'t blame others. Let us accept, acknowledge our sins including the petty ones."

Bishop Anthony Lee, Bishop of Miri, Sarawak and Episcopal President of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and Liturgical Commission of Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei, highlighted these in a series of talks on Healing and Deliverance held on June 23 - 24 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

"We need to forgive everyone in the Name of Jesus especially those who have hurt us the most. We must fulfill the above-mentioned conditions set by Jesus for us to be healed," Bishop Lee added.

The bishop pointed out that our life involves spiritual warfare. "We are in an all-out war with the evil one attacking us from all sides through superstitions, symbols, designs, music and books of Satanic influence. We must know our enemy. Let us conduct our life as Christian soldiers under the banner of Jesus. The Kingdom of God, light, truth and good versus the kingdom of the evil one, darkness, lies and the bad. We do not just renounce evil. We have to proclaim the victory of Christ over the evil one," Bishop Lee exhorted the congregation. The bishop disclosed that the main spiritual battleground is in the mind. "Read the Bible regularly everyday, follow the principles from the Bible and the teachings of the Church. Ask the Lord to take control of your thoughts. Build your spiritual life with the Word of God through the help of the Holy Spirit."

"You have to surrender every part of your life to Jesus. You need to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and have a personal relationship with the Lord," Bishop Lee continued his exhortation.

He showed examples of Satanic symbols such as the pentagram, hexagram, inverted cross, ankh, unicorn horn, etc. He encouraged the participants to join the LSS to experience God in a special way and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

"Let us thank God that we are Catholics, we have the sacraments, we have Mother Mary whom we can ask for help against the evil one. Let us avoid two extremes: 1) to believe or pretend that the devil does not exist and 2) to see the devil everywhere and behind everything that happens and we don’t want to be responsible for our own moral actions. Don’t give credit to the evil one," the bishop further stated.

He also discussed the importance of putting on the Whole Armour of God based on Ephesians 6:10 - 18 involving the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, Sword of the Spirit and Prayer in the Spirit.

Bishop Lee ended each session by leading the congregation in prayers for healing and deliverance.

About 300 parishioners from the different churches in the island and mainland participated in each of these two evening sessions. On June 23, Bishop Antony Selvanayagam officially welcomed Bishop Lee and the congregation for these talks. Archbishop Emeritus A. Soter Fernandez, Fr Francis Xavier Selvarajoo , IC parish priest and Fr Edwin Paul, Rector, College General were also present. Bishop Lee shared several personal testimonies on healing and deliverance cases.
