St Michael\'s Human Development Team Sells Green to Raise Fund.

IPOH: The parishioners of St Michael can now enjoy the well renowned Cameron Highlands Greens at their own doorstep.

The Parish Human Development Committee has undertaken a ‘Selling Greens’ project to earn money to support their programmes for human development at parish level.

The idea called Farmdirect was started on Aug 21 at St Michael’s Church, and will provide fresh greens from Cameron Highlands to parishioners who want to purchase them at farm prices.

The \'greens sale\' will be on every third Sunday of each month, and if the response is good, it may be increased to other Sundays as well.

The Parish Human Development Committee members (eight at present) at SMC thought up the idea when they were brainstorming for ways to earn some cash to boost the parish contingency fund to help the poor.

"We have a member who goes up to the highlands and purchases the greens from farmers, then brings it here," said Susan Lim, who also heads the POHD (Penang Office for Human Development) at St Michael’s Church.
