PARIT BUNTAR: There was a triple celebration on Nov 25 at the Church of Our Lady of Good Health — the feast of Christ the King, First Holy Communion and the renewal of pledge of commitment of the 12 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
The parish priest Fr Francis Xavier expressed his appreciation of the parents and Sunday School teachers for their dedication and hard work in preparing the children.
The members of the Extraordinary Communion Ministry are entrusted with distributing the Eucharist, taking Communion to the sick, and giving it as viaticum to the dying. They are also entrusted with the responsibility to lead and conduct Communion and Prayer Services especially during the absence of a priest.
The selected candidates of the CM had gone through a four-step procedure, namely: publication of banns, submission of names to the bishop for approval, formation and recollection for the accepted candidates and finally celebration of the order for commissioning.
After the celebration, everyone then adjourned for fellowship, photograph session with candidates and a sumptuous meal in the church compound.
