IPOH : “I will go Lord, if you lead me, I will hold your people in my heart.” This was the message which attracted some 200 youths and adults to attend Youth Mass recently at the Church of Our Lord of Lourdes (OLOL). “Speak Lord, your servant is listening” was the message stressed by Fr Stanley Antoni as he led the youths into a spirit-filled, enchanting and beautiful worship at this youth mass. This message, from the Bible was uttered by Eli, so must we too as youths learn to listen to our Lord God. “Be still and listen” for God is speaking to us. Only when we are humble and still, God will speak to us and work his wonders. Fr Stanley also sternly warned the youths: Open your eyes! See Reality and Shun Evil! Fornication is everywhere. Why have sex outside marriage? Why must intimacy always end up in sex? Why feel bad after that? All these are wrong doings. Don’t follow! Intimacy need not end up in sex. It is right to be understood, loved and appreciated. But not with your body, dear youths, just with your hearts. “Your body is shouting to you! Your body is calling out to you. Find a right partner and love out of respect. Not out of want. He must increase and I decrease. Don’t live in illusion. Learn to differenciate reality from illusion.” Fr Stanley also allowed us to quieten ourselves and find God just as Eli did. Fr Stanley also praised all youths of today saying that they are all so blessed and so richly talented. Use these talents for the good of others, to spread God’s Word and to help God’s people. ‘Live Clean, Think Clean and Act Clean’.” As the youths sang lively, melodious, soultouching songs such as Mujizat itu Nyata, Be Not Afraid the youths walked on with renewed faith and clean hearts, with thanksgiving in their hearts and pledged to work tirelessly for a better community. With this, they adjourned for light refreshments and fellowship after Mass. Truly it was a very enriching and soulful night. —By J.Sheila
