My dear friends

We believe that Jesus has come, we also believe that Jesus will come. In between these two comings, Jesus is here waiting for us to open our minds to think of him, to open our families to welcome him and to open our communities to receive him in our neighbours and the people in need.

The time between these two comings is an opportunity and a moment of grace. If we live this moment gracefully, we generate peace, harmony, reconciliation, joy and give meaning for living. This will be ‘Deepening our Discipleship’ of Jesus and preparing us for his second coming. Individuals, Families, the Church, our country and the world need disciples of Jesus.

My wish for you this Christmas 2006 is: that you welcome Jesus who is peace and joy and that you carry him along into the New Year 2007 in discipleship.

With love,

Bishop Antony Selvanayagam
